The Premium ListNotes on dog-show club culture: the breed, the ring, the club and the Gulf.

The show office

The standing rules

The terms the register is kept under: what The Premium List publishes, what it does not, and the plain rules about sources, corrections and privacy.

The Premium List is a reader's publication.

Sources and honesty

Each entry is checked against the public record before it takes its number: the American Kennel Club's published rules and results, parent-club pages, premium lists, judging programs and catalogues, and the archived record of the site that stood at this address. Sources are named at the foot of every entry. Where the record stops, the entry says so rather than guessing; nothing here is invented to fill a gap, and no figure is given without its source.

Corrections

An entry that is wrong gets fixed, and the fix is stamped. If you hold the record that corrects a page, write to [email protected] and it will be checked.

What this site is not

It is not the club that previously stood at this address, and it speaks for no former owner. Links to other sites in the book are reading suggestions, not endorsements or paid placements.

Privacy

The site is a static book. It sets no cookie, runs no tracker, asks for no account. The host keeps ordinary technical logs, the kind every server keeps, and this register reads them for nothing else. Letters sent to the secretary are kept long enough to be answered and no longer; they are never sold, lent or traded.

Images and text

The photographs in the book are made for it and belong to it. The text may be quoted briefly with a link and the name of the page, the way a premium list gets quoted in a review. For anything more, write first.
